Tucson, Arizona

The Cholla (pronounced choy·uh) room is a private ground level room with one king bed, one detached bathroom which is also sometimes used by guests at the pool, fireplace (one firelog is provided), kitchenette, private patio, and a frame tv. It can accommodate up to two adults, and one infant (up to two years of age).If you're interested in a room like this but prefer a private attached bathroom, please see our Yucca Room.

This is also our only guest room available for pets. Please select the pet add-on($50) while booking if you'd like to bring your pet along for the stay.

JTH Tucson is a small inn lovingly nicknamed Posada, immersed in nature and available for overnight stays. The inn is made up of six private suites as well as over 5,000 sq ft of communal areas for all guests to enjoy. The unique nature of this inn allows us to offer self check-in for a private and immersive experience, while also having an on-site manager available for any questions or assistance you may need during your stay. Your private suite is designed to feel like home upon check-in, and to further that concept you’ll find that this is not a place with a “front desk” or a laminated binder of rules upon arrival. We are so grateful to welcome guests for a relaxed experiencehere in the Sonoran desert, a place our small team of three also calls home.

Our rural location borders the west side of Saguaro National Park in Tucson, AZ. Situated on 40 acres of land with a forest of Saguaro cactus, native plants, and an abundance of wildlife, this is a space to reflect, reset, and create.

When booking a suite, you will also have access to the shared areas at the JTH Tucson which include: a chef's kitchen, canyon pool (solar heated and best May through September), hot tub (heated to around 100 degrees), rooftop lounge, yoga room, dining patio with a charcoal grill, fire pit (firewood is provided), and living room with a projector.

We provide a light in-room breakfast upon check-in which includes local teas, coffee, almond milk, and gluten-free nut based granola; and we highly recommend picking up groceries for other meals to bring to the inn to fully take advantage of the remote setting, chef's kitchen, and charcoal grill. We also provide private chef contacts as well as other vendor recommendations for added experiences such as massages after booking.

More FAQ's answered here!

A few things to note:

If you're interested in booking the full space please email us ([email protected]). If you book all 6 suites independently, a buyout fee will be applied.

If you would like to do a commercial photoshoot on-site, bring a private vendor onsite for services outside of our recommended vendors list, or plan on hosting an event such as an elopement or wedding please let us know in advance as this affects pricing.

An incidental fee of $250/room per night may be charged for group stays of 3 or more rooms that are booked individually in an effort to maintain the quiet nature of the inn. For a group buyout with full privacy, please see the JTH Tucson listing.

Bucketlist Visit

:)  Absolutely Everything!!! This was a total Bucketlist check for me. Something I’ve been dreaming about for years and it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect; the space, the property, the staff, every little detail showed how much heart was put into this desert oasis. I can’t wait to go back.  :(  The fact that I had to leave and couldn’t stay and live there

New Favorite Hot Tub

The resort is one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed at! Beautiful room, the communal spaces were massive and comfortable and you really feel like you are in the middle of your surroundings in Saguaro National Park. The "Hot Springs" is my new favorite hot tub!

Amazing experience!!

There is not a single picture or post on the I trendy that shows how truly beautiful this property is. This is tastefully put together. We stayed in cholla room, the room was so nice, clean, cozy and spacious. The room had everything we needed even phone chargers on both sides of the bed, Marshall speaker, and a fan. The view is incredible. The room currently does not have a private bathroom, the bathroom is a shared restroom off the main kitchen. I will say it is honestly not a deal breaker. The only time we ran into a SLIGHT inconvenience was when there was an elopement going on the couples photographer/wedding planner/chef, etc would use the rest room. All the other guests that had rooms there would use their own restrooms that were in their suites. I can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful space!!!

Beautiful space!!! The Cholla room had a private entrance so felt super lux. The bathroom being shared in the house was no issue as we never saw another person use it. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen has absolutely everything you could need! Hot spring and pool were lovely after a morning hike. The view from all the sitting areas was like looking at a painting.

5-stars doesn’t do this place justice

5-stars doesn’t do this place justice. Truly. I debated whether I should spend the money when I was traveling by myself on a short business trip to Arizona without my husband but I couldn’t get this place out of my head so I decided to book and I am so glad I did. It is worth every penny! This place is truly in a category by itself. Getting there is just as much part of the experience as the stay. From Gates pass through the Sonoran desert… the landscape is stunning. When you first see the lodge, it’s as if the angels start singing. This place is gorgeous and there is so much to see and explore on the grounds. I was like a kid in a candy store, running from room to room, discovering new spaces as I turned each corner. From the rooftop dining to the hot springs, from Labrynth trail to the movie screen in the sunken living room, and the amazing pantry. Every design detail is amazing. And although you are staying in a posada with other guests, it feels like you have the entire place to yourself. I stayed in the Cholla room which has its own separate entrance and patio. I felt like my bedroom window was a living desert display at a museum. I saw quail, gopher, mice, even a bunny peeked into my window to say hi in the morning. Don’t think about booking this place… just do it! This is a MUST do if you’re near or in Tucson.

inspirational

Simply put, this botique hotel is a work of art. When one stays here, you can't help but feel inspired to do something great with your life - to chase a dream as these hoteliers have evidently done. We stayed in the Cholla room, which has the most incredible beamed ceiling. Admittedly, it does have a shared bathroom, but that was no issue as it's right outside the room, is kept very clean, and is seldomly used by other guests. On our last night, we hired Chef Ezra for a private dinner on the outdoor patio with the lights of Tuscon in the background - a deliciously romantic experience. The hotel is ideally situated if you want to be close to Saguora West, the Desert Museum, and Gates Pass, all of which are "must-dos." However, it is a bit of a drive to the restaurants in town and a good hour to Saguaro East or Sabino Canyon Park, both of which are similarly worth visiting. I can't recommend this hotel enough and plan to get back there soon.
